SudhaarSetu: A Platform for Citizens to Report, Track Civic Issues
Is a pothole in the street putting the brakes on your mobility,

or garbage accumulations in the locality emitting an unbearable stench? To empower citizens who feel helpless in such situations, three JKLU students have developed a prototype that allows them to instantly report such issues to municipal authorities and track their complaints.

Called SudhaarSetu, this civic-tech platform, developed by Vivek Pareek, Achal Tiwari, and Anunay Tiwari as part of their semester project, is designed to streamline municipal complaint resolution.

“It enables citizens to report issues such as potholes, broken streetlights, and waste accumulation using geotagged images, ensuring fast, transparent, and efficient communication with local authorities,” Vivek said.

SudhaarSetu is a portal where a citizen can raise a complaint, attach an image, and submit it with real-time location tagging. Once submitted, it gets auto-assigned to the relevant municipal worker. They can update the status – whether it is pending or resolved- and communicate directly if needed. Admin dashboards give authorities the bird’s-eye view that they lacked.

To build SudhaarSetu’s architecture, the three B.Tech students used PostgreSQL and Supabase for the database, NodeJS and ExpressJS for the backend, and ReactJS, NextJS, and TailwindCSS for the frontend.

Apart from empowering citizens, SudhaarSetu contributes to SDG 11, which is to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

“A heartfelt thanks to our mentor Prof. Amit Sinhal, for his invaluable guidance, and to JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur, for fostering an environment where innovation can thrive,” Vivek said.

“We are also deeply thankful to Mr. Mukesh Vyas, Principal Consultant – Salesforce at Infosys, for reviewing our project and sharing thoughtful, industry-aligned feedback. His insights helped us elevate the solution’s applicability in real-world scenarios,” he added.
