Established in 2011 by the Group, JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) was envisioned as a pioneering institution to bridge the gap between industry and academia, and to equip young minds for the challenges of a fast-changing world.
J.K. Organisation, a 140-year-old group with a storied legacy in nation-building, was founded by Lala Kamlapat Singhania and has grown into one of India’s most respected industrial and philanthropic groups. Its contributions span textiles, tyres, cement, paper, education, and social upliftment—guided by values of excellence, ethics, and empowerment.

As part of JKLU’s student mobility programme that allows students to study up to four semesters at premier engineering institutes, JKLU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BITS Pilani, widening the choice for the students.
With the establishment of the Institute of Design (IOD) in 2019, the first batch of the four-year  Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme graduated in 2023. JKLU B.Des students can choose from one of the four contemporary disciplines: Interdisciplinary Design, Interaction Design, Product Design and Integrated Communication Design.
HSB offers a two-year UGC-accredited residential MBA programme to train future-focused leaders capable of exercising foresight in revitalising and crafting the global businesses of tomorrow.
JKLU was accredited with “A" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), stamping the assurance of high-quality in terms of its performance related to the educational processes and outcomes.
Launched a dedicated helpline to assist elderly people during Covid-19 lockdown. Called 'sharing-caring,' the helpline resolved issues related to food and medicine supply, medical consultation, counselling and shared government advisories.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Prof. M. P. Ranjan, JKLU decided to celebrate November 9 as Design Guru Day. Prof. Vikas Satwalekar, a former executive director of the National Institute of Design (NID), was felicitated during the inaugural edition of Design Guru Day at JKLU in 2019.
JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) launched its Institute of Design in 2019 with the aim of introducing a new paradigm in design education, making the shift from conventional focus on aesthetics to sustainability and user experience. IOD offers Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) degrees.
JKLU established the Centre for Communication and Critical Thinking (CCCT) that uses the constructs of liberal arts, scientific temperament, group dynamics, and interpersonal communication to help students achieve personal and professional growth.
The first engineering batch of JKLU successfully completed their B.Tech programmes, marking the arrival of a new generation of highly skilled engineers.
The first JKLU Laureate Award was conferred to Dr. K. Kasturirangan, former Member of Rajya Sabha and former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation, in 2014. Under Dr. K. Kasturirangan’s leadership, ISRO successfully operationalised India's prestigious launch vehicle, the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). 
A joint expert committee of UGC and AICTE visited JKLU to take stock of the facilities and opportunities provided by the university. 
The first batch of Master of Business Administration Programme graduated, marking the arrival of a new generation of highly skilled graduates ready to take on challenging managerial roles. 
JK Lakshmipat University was formally inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot, on December 18, 2012. 
To strengthen international academic collaborations, JKLU signed MoUs with five foreign Universities. 
JKLU celebrated the first Founder’s Day on November 23, 2012.
Classes commenced at JKLU’s Institute of Management. The first batch at IM also had one international student.
The foundation stone of JK JK Lakshmipat University was laid on December 12, 2009, marking the auspicious beginning of building a university in memory of visionary entrepreneur and industrialist Lala Lakshmipat Singhania.
